It's easier to tell you what's NOT going on.
He loves me ... not.
I've dabbled a bit on the Dating Sites, without much luck.
One guy wrote and told me that he liked to dress up like Benjamin Franklin...
all the time.
Delete.
I actually went out with another man,
but although my kids thought he was hysterical,
I did not find his constant imitation of 'Barney The Purple Dinosaur' voice
attractive at all.
I have been E-mailing a new guy,
but he just wrote to me this morning and said that he was
"tired of typing" and wanted me to "call him."
He sounded like a nice guy on the phone.
He lives locally and all of his kids are grown.
He's a teacher, so I doubt that he's out of prison on parole.
He has a nice voice, and if that's a recent pic in his ad,
he's very handsome.
He hardly drinks and is a non-smoker.
I wonder if he's had his cholesterol and blood pressure checked recently?
Hmmmmmm....
I did NOT sell the house.
I had a few offers that were ridiculously low.
In retrospect,
maybe I should have taken one of them.
At least I'd be out on my own,
and much more financially secure.
Another hmmmmmmm....
I did NOT find an agent to represent my book.
I can't even get one to READ it.
I wouldn't mind the rejection,
if they gave it a fair chance at least.
Query letters describe the plot, so the agent
can decide if she wants to read more.
Would you read the book if I described it this way?
When Detective Endel Sorra is killed during a robbery one night
the lives of his loved ones are shattered.
His wife Kate, bitter, angry and full of hatred,
blames herself for his tragic death.
Hector Ramos, the store clerk who was also shot in the robbery,
must spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair.
Jake Conway, overcome with guilt for his crime,
commits suicide and leaves behind his girlfriend Jenna,
who is seven months pregnant. After she dies of a heroin overdose,
the baby is left to be raised by Jake's mother,
a foul, uncaring drunk who keeps him solely for the extra cash
she gets in her monthly welfare check.
Having lost their only child, Endel's parents have no possibility
of ever becoming grandparents.
It will take nothing less than a miracle to repair these broken lives.
When Kate Sorra comes across the Snow Globe
that her husband had given to her
the first Christmas they were married,
she gets that miracle.
Endel comes back from the grave,
and over the course of two weeks
he helps her learn the truth about his death and other relationships
in her life that are keeping her from being happy.
So far, three agents have rejected me.
The fourth answer is due in any day now.
I'm beginning to think it's easier to find a man
than an agent.
The story's good.
It practically wrote itself.
And I know the characters are realistic,
cause once I finished writing it,
I actually began to 'miss' them.
My kids declared it "awesome".
Too bad one of them didn't grow up to be a literary agent.
And I did NOT go on any more trips.
Once I sell the house and the book though...
My daughter Lisa finished her Medical Assistant Course,
and got a job at my hospital.
YEAH!!
Tina left the psycho cop from Pitman, once and for all.
And she has been attending an out patient group for abused women.
Hopefully, she will learn how to avoid such relationships in the future.
My son Joe, and his wife Bonnie are having another baby.
This time... it's a girl!
She's due to arrive in October.
And I have every hope that she will grow up to be a literary agent.
Her brother JT doesn't know it yet, but he will be a
plastic surgeon like his cousin, Brandon.
That's it for now!
